FAQs
What is ABA?
ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is a scientific, evidence-based approach to understanding and improving behavior. It’s most commonly used to support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, but it can be applied in many settings where behavior change is the goal.
Who Is Eligible for Services?
Services are primarily designed for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities as well as those with behavioral concerns or are otherwise experiencing difficulties in learning. Support is available for individuals across the lifespan—including toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults—with goals tailored to the individuals specific needs.
A primary focus for our program is caregiver guidance. Generally speaking, parents or other change agents will be required to participate in most sessions. Because of this requirement, our services will not be the best fit for everyone. We will always be very open about what is expected from you and what you expect from our behavior analysts. This may not be necessary for those who are their own guardians and above the age of 18.
Where Are Services Provided?
Services are currently offered in the home, out in the community, or through secure telehealth sessions. This flexible model allows support to happen in natural, everyday settings where skills are most needed. A clinic location is part of our first year plans!
What Does Intake Look Like?
The intake process begins with an initial contact to discuss your needs and determine whether services are a good fit for your family. After this conversation, an introductory meeting may be scheduled to further explore your goals and answer any questions.
If services move forward, you’ll complete intake paperwork, for families using insurance, paperwork will be submitted to your insurance provider for prior authorization. Once approved, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand current strengths and needs. Based on this assessment, individualized treatment goals will be developed and submitted for therapy authorization.
For private pay clients, prior authorization is not required. After the assessment and development of a treatment plan, services can begin as soon as scheduling is arranged.
How long is a treatment period?
Treatment plans are submitted every 6 months. Treatment is evaluated at that time regardless of recommendations or plans for long term vs. short term.
Do You Accept Insurance?
Yes! Currently, services are accepted through Wisconsin Medicaid, Dean Health and we also accept private pay (we will discuss rates during our intake phone call).
Credentialing with additional local and national insurance providers is underway. Please reach out to discuss current coverage options, potential for single-case agreements or to be notified when new insurance plans are accepted.
